What we offer?

Our History

The Sikh Community of Western Victoria (SCWV) was setup in 2001 at 12 Synnot Street, Werribee, Victoria to carry on the religious progressing of Sangat in Melbourne's West. In 2008, with the help of sangat, a bigger land was purchased at 560 Davis Road, Tarneit, Victoria. A 10 acres of land has been purchased at 1347 Mount Cottrell, Victoria to build an even larger premises in near future.
Today, Gurduara Sahib at Tarneit is a central hub for an ever increasing sangat. It has a elected committee that manages the day to day operations of Gurduara Sahib with the support of volunteers. Regular gurbani kirtan programs are held on:
- Tuesday
- Wednesday (By Senior Citizens of Sangat)
- Thursday
- Saturday (Kirtan Sri Asa Di Var)
- Sunday
Special programs are held to celebrate Gurpurabs, Vaisakhi.


Our Mission

The Sikh Community of Western Victoria (SCWV) aims to set a high standard in serving the needs of the Sikh and other Community in Australia, especially ALL community members located around Melbourne‘s West.
The Sikh Community of Western Victoria also aims to contribute to the wider Australian Society, by the way charitable activities and by actively engaging in the development of the Multicultural Australia, in the 21st Century. Our main activity is to help anyone in need no matter what race, gender, colour or background they are from.
At the Sikh Community of Western Victoria all governance is based on and in line with the high moral and ethical principles as enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and as per the rules set out in the federal and state laws as well as the Constitution of SCWV.

Present Raggi Jatha

At regular intervals, Kirtan Singh's from India are invited to carry out kirtan seva at Gurduara Sahib.
At Presently, Bhai Nirvair Singh and Jatha is carrying out all the progressions at Gurduara Sahib and at private functions at sangat's home.
Bhai Bachiter Singh Ji is acting as Head Granthi at Gurduara Sahib Tarneit.
